Become a Health Coach and Member of the UKHCA
The UKHCA has a mission to ensure that Health Coaching is fully recognised as a game-changing, force-for-good, operating on the front-line of the battle against chronic, lifestyle-related disease in the UK.
To that end, we are working to provide the public with transparency about the value and benefit of health coaching, your scope of practice and the quality of your education.
Aligned with this we are here to advocate and influence on your behalf, support you in your practice, your continuing professional development and to help the nation find you and connect with confidence.
There are two routes to UKHCA Membership:
1) The UKHCA currently considers applications from students and graduates that are studying or have completed the following courses at these Health Coaching Schools
We continually assess other health coach training schools and will revise this list accordingly.
2) If you do not have one of the qualifications listed above, we will consider the following:
The UKHCA currently considers applications that include a course or combination of courses of at least 60 hours of training which included significant behavioural change coaching skills ie: level 4 and above and sufficient evidence-based health knowledge. Each application is assessed individually.

Membership Applications must be supported by:
· A copy of your relevant qualification(s) awarded in the past 2 years. If your qualification is more than 2 years old, we require evidence of at least 20 hours of CPD in the last 2 years
· A copy of your current insurance certificate covering you for Professional Indemnity and Public Liability for Health Coaching
